Country Manager
I’m Adisty, Country Manager for Start Me Up.
I’m originally from Jakarta but I’ve lived all over the world, including Switzerland and the UK and I love showing people what my home country has to offer.
I’m particularly passionate about Indonesia’s underwater life.
The waters surrounding Indonesia’s 13,466 islands host some of the most incredible marine life.
Indonesia is the world’s second most biodiverse country after Brazil. In addition, 36% of Indonesia birds and 39% of its mammal species are endemic making it a very special place for wildlife lovers to visit.
But that’s not all. Aside from being in the water, you can enjoy deserted beaches, awe-inspiring views, treks and scenic boat trips.
We’ve curated some of our favorite excursions around Bali and beyond so you can make the most of your time in this incredible part of the world.
Flores
Explore deserted beaches, swim with unspoilt marine life and marvel at this otherworldly destination.
Flores a 50-minute flight from Bali in the east of Indonesia.
Having landed in the port, you can go straight to the national park to see the komodo dragons on Komodo Island.
There are hundreds of islands to pick from, so it’s easy to find your own little beach for the day.
If the komodos aren’t enough, you can dive and snorkel here too, seeing manta rays, sharks and sometimes wales.

Menjangan Island
With scuba-diving, snorkelling, underwater statues and piers to jump off, this beautiful island is a must-see destination.
From colourful sealife and turtles to sharks and rays, there really is something for everyone in the underwater paradise.
You might even be lucky enough to see deer playing on the beach. Dolphins and pilot whales have also been spotted on this island.
If the sealife isn’t enough, Menjangan is also next to a national park where you can explore the mangroves and see the animals.
Aside from great restaurants and bars, Menjangan is also home to traditional villages if you want to understand more about the Balinese culture.
As a bonus it is super easy to get there from your accomodation in Canggu.
